The ADHD Success Pyramid

I am putting together an amazing two-day class for parents of teenagers who have ADHD and thought I would write a few blog posts about what I will be sharing!

We often focus on the struggles these teens have with executive functioning, but ADHD affects more than just that! So, I turned this idea into a pyramid with three layers: executive functioning, emotional regulation, and finally self-concept/future self. I will do a blog post on each specifically and some tips for parents, but here is a few of the things that fall within each one.

Executive Functioning - planning, time management, organization, routines and habits, study skills, and study plans.

Emotional Regulation - Stress management, rejection sensitivity, motivation, procrastination, what emotions are and how to resolve them in healthy ways, using screens as buffers

Self-Concept and Future Planning - long-term goals, self-esteem, planning for the future, thought work, building your strengths, creating your own personal brand

When we start looking at each piece individually, we can help our teens find the tools they need to be successful in all areas of their lives!
